Our Family Centered Care approach is one that welcomes participation by families and recognizes the importance of family and friends in the healing process. Our goal is to provide a healing environment that will be as comfortable as possible for you and your child. Someone will always be available to answer any questions or discuss any concerns you may have. The medical care and safety of your child are of utmost importance to us and we welcome your feedback regarding the job we are doing.
A unique playroom designed for your children and stocked with books, arts & crafts projects, video games, boardgames, and computers to help children cope with hospitalization. The playroom is a “safe zone” where no medical procedures and white coats of any kind are prohibited. Child Life Specialists and volunteers staff our playroom but also are able to bring any activity to the bedside.
We are also proud to offer 44 Direct Television channels that include Noggin Kids, Discovery Kids, Sprout, Nicktoons, Disney XD, BabyFirst TV, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and two Spanish channels. Our dedicated professional nursing staff has been awarded the prestigious Magnet Recognition Award and our NICU staff was awarded the Advance Nursing unit of the year award for the Baltimore-Washington Area. With guidance from both the Pediatric and NICU Parent Advisory Boards, we are committed to practice Family Centered Care, involving the patient and the family in decision making and viewing them as an integral part of the health care team.
