About CyberKnife®

If you are considering CyberKnife treatment, you may have many questions about how it works, what to expect and whether it is a good choice for you.

What is CyberKnife?

CyberKnife is a non-surgical, painless technology that can reduce or eliminate certain lesions and tumors anywhere in the body. Using a combination of computers, robotics and image guidance systems, CyberKnife delivers a high dose of radiation strong enough to control or destroy tumor cells while limiting radiation exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.

As one of the busiest CyberKnife treatment locations in the country, performing more than 120 procedures each month, we understand the wide range of issues you may face—before, during and after the treatment.

The trained specialists at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital are here to help you understand your options and make the best decision for you and your family.
