Department of Plastic Surgery

The Department of Plastic Surgery at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is dedicated to helping people with a wide range of problems or concerns. Both surgical and noninvasive treatments are available for people with cosmetic as well as functional problems of the face, body and extremities that result from birth defects, tumors, traumas and simple aging.

Treatments include immediate breast reconstruction with tissue, breast reconstruction with implants, microvascular surgery for complex breast reconstruction, breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lifting, facelifts, eyelid procedures, rhinoplasty, liposuction, facial bone surgery, limb salvage, management of difficult wounds, craniofacial surgery, orthognathic surgery, repair of cleft lip or palate and skin care. Children and adults with either reconstructive or cosmetic needs will find expert advice and treatment here. 

We are pleased to announce that as of January 2010, we opened the Peripheral Nerve Institute, which specializes in treating peripheral neuropathy, occipital neuralgia and chronic migraines.
